In the 16th Century, La Scierie was a wood cutting sawmill. It was powered by water, which is why it sits above its very own stream and hence its proximity to the cascading waterfall of Angon and the lake. Now, lovingly restored into a residential dwelling it boasts significant and luxurious accommodation, whilst keeping many of it’s charming original features including it’s large outer water wheel, its internal wheel mechanisms, cutting saws and of course the stream that runs beneath it.
It’s located in the picture postcard Hamlet of Angon, which is a Commune de Talloires, Talloires being the larger and rather glamourous town on the East side of the lake which is a ten minute walk away.
